Nestled in the peaceful surroundings of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Christ College Brecon provides an all-round education for boys and girls, with day pupils joining from age 4, and boarding pupils from age 10-18. Founded in 1541 by Henry VIII, our motto, "They achieve because they believe they can," remains as relevant as ever.
We believe that the purpose of our role as educators, is to prepare our pupils for life beyond school. This incorporates so much more than just academic excellence, as important as this is. It means developing confidence, encouraging self-belief with 'I can do it' attitude, coupled with strong a moral compass so that whatever the future holds for our pupils, they will be good, kind, responsible human-beings.
Christ College achieves excellent academic outcomes alongside the development of holistic skills designed to equip our pupils with a toolkit to thrive in life.
Our wide range of subject options at GCSE and A Level provides pupils with the opportunity for greater specialisation ahead of university applications. We believe teaching and learning should be 'serious fun' characterised by expert, supportive teachers, engaged pupils and small class sizes to enable a dynamic learning environment.
Despite our relatively small size of 368 pupils, we offer an extensive range of sport and co-curricular activities. This is testament to the dedication of our staff, who are committed to nurturing our pupils' character, helping them grow into confident and accomplished young adults.
