Our philosophy can be summarised by five important points: Small is beautiful! The values of the family run through Dover College. Our class sizes allow us to nurture confidence, encourage inquisitiveness and celebrate individual achievement.
We are academically ambitious. We take the time to really get to know each child so that the right balance of challenge and is in based on their needs. This is a school which recognises that success is as unique as the individual and celebrates achievement where it represents the personal best for the child.
We are a member of the Round Square organisation, a group of 150 worldwide schools, and share their commitment to an all-round education. We prize their core values of internationalism, democracy, care for the environment, adventure, leadership and service.

or 1 or 2 BTECs Dover College has a long commitment to excellence and opportunity in education. The curriculum reflects this, providing a wide range of modern and traditional subjects from which to make their choices. During the first two years in the Senior School, the emphasis is placed on sound preparation in basic academic skills and, in Year 9, pupils commence our enhanced GCSE+ Programme, giving them additional preparation for these vital exams.
A structured Personal, Health & Social Education course is also delivered by school staff in Priory and the Houses. PSHE introduces and discusses key moral, ethical and social issues at appropriate times in the pupils' lives. It aims to foster a greater understanding of 's society and to assist them in taking responsibilities for their own and their fellows' well-being.

Dover College's education of the whole helps our pupils leave the School with the qualifications, skills and experience needed to face the future with confidence. Secondary Schools Many of our Prep School children do well in the Kent Test and the Grammar tests.
However, a significant number of them are awarded scholarships into the Senior School for their academic, sporting and musical achievements. College is a boarding and day school with excellent boarding facilities for both boys and girls, and weekly or full-time boarders. The boarding community is a tight-knit one, with the houses in proximity, providing safety and compatriotism. A resident Housemaster or Housemistress together with a Deputy Housemaster/mistress staff each House.
Dover College has a strong tradition of pastoral care delivered through the House system. The School is a very friendly and supportive community and pupils benefit from this well structured system of pastoral care. Pupils of all ages (from 11 years old) across the various year are well-integrated with each other.
A genuine home away from home
The Houses play a huge role when it comes to delivering outstanding levels of pastoral care. The House teams, from Housemaster, Deputy, Tutors and Matrons ensure the pupils are really well looked after. Maple House and Beech House ages 11 - 18, Boys (Boys) Boy boarders are all accommodated in single rooms in Maple House and Beech House, both overseen by our caring and experienced Head of Boys' Boarding, Mr Laurence Teeling.
Mr Teeling has created a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the houses, meaning that new arrivals integrate very quickly and feel that their boarding house has become their home-from-home. Facilities include table football and table tennis as well as a Play Station and X Box.
