Hereford Cathedral School is one of the oldest schools in the country, located in the beautiful surroundings of a Cathedral Close. A happy, inclusive school with a national reputation for music, sport and academic achievement, we offer pupils a personalised education helping individuals to set their sights high and feel valued for who they are.
Aside from stretching and challenging all pupils, both in and out of the classroom, our prime aim is to develop character: helping pupils to become fulfilled and valued citizens, who will make a positive impact on those around them. Our A-Level students can choose from a wide range of subjects from a free option list.
Alongside this, we also run the 'HCS Diploma' course ensuring our students leave us real-world ready.

The residence has been described by many visitors as one of the best boarding houses they have seen, providing en-suite rooms to all pupils with very tasteful decor and furnishings. The school, is an all-through school but provides boarding accommodation for British and International pupils form Year 7 to 13.
Home stay is also an alternative option. What the school is known for? The school has a national reputation for music, sport and academic achievement. In 2015, for example, the Cantabile Girls' Choir won the BBC's School Choir of the Year competition.
