Established in 1833 on the beautiful Isle of Man, King William's College is a coed independent boarding school (ages 11-18). With a rich history, we excel as one of the longest-standing International Baccalaureate schools in the British Isles.
Our students consistently secure placements in top universities across the UK, Europe, and the USA. Immersed in a broad curriculum, our pupils engage in competitive sports with schools from the UK and the Isle of Man. Academics at King William's College
What pupils study at King William's College — and where it takes them.
Progress is monitored through regular assessments and internal exams are held twice a year. Most pupils go on to take ten subjects at (I)GCSE and in addition to the core subjects there is a wide range of options. This provides a strong foundation for the Sixth Form where students can either study the International Baccalaureate Diploma or from September 2026 a blended A-Level pathway.
KWC is entering into a collaboration with King's Inter High, the UK's leading global online school, via which KWC students will be able to study A-Levels via live supported online lessons. Through this collaboration, twenty-two A-Level subjects will be available.

The boarding community here at King William's College is a vibrant, friendly and creative community. Opting to board at College (occasional, weekly or full time) gives pupils the freedom to become more independent both socially and academically.
It encourages them to organise their time more efficiently and to strike a healthy balance between work and play. They become more tolerant, more confident and more willing to act as part of a group. They have unrivalled access to College facilities and members of staff.
A genuine home away from home
The boarding community at King William's College is a vibrant, friendly, and creative part of school life, adding so much to the College as a whole. Girls' Boarding (Girls) The girls' boarding house is a comfortable and spacious three-floor residence within our historic main building, with many rooms offering stunning sea views.
All boarders are accommodated in double or single rooms. All Year 13 students are guaranteed a single room to make studying as easy as possible. There is a large common room and lovely new kitchen facilities. Boys' Boarding (Boys) The boys' boarding house is a comfortable and spacious two-floor residence.

We offer a three week Summer School during the last three weeks of summer term, which is a fantastic way to sample school life at King William's College. We will accept pupils into Years 7, 8 and 9 any time during the academic year, as long as they are planning to stay for a minimum of one year.
