Loughborough Grammar School, founded in 1495, blends over 500 years of tradition with a modern and innovative outlook. With around 800 boys aged 10-18, the School is part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation - a family of three schools and a Nursery with over 2000 pupils, creating a strong sense of community and belonging.
Loughborough Grammar provides the best of both worlds as an all-boys' school on a co-educational campus. This means our boys benefit from small classes, a learning environment designed to help them perform to their academic potential, and a co-curricular programme which sees them sharing opportunities and experiences with the girls at Loughborough High School.
The result is that our boys perform strongly at GCSEs and A Levels and develop into well-rounded individuals ready to take their next steps in the world.

Academics at Loughborough Grammar
What pupils study at Loughborough Grammar — and where it takes them.
During their time in these years, they are provided with the opportunity to experience the broadest possible range of subjects before they start to consider their options for GCSEs. Years 10 and 11 are a crucial phase in a pupil's academic journey, laying the foundations for further study at A Level and beyond.
Most pupils study nine GCSEs, made up of core subjects and a selection of options choices. Pupils are encouraged to maintain a balanced curriculum by taking at least one Modern Foreign Language and one Humanity. All pupils study English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and at least two Sciences.

As a day school with boarding, our boarders are immediately immersed into a wonderfully diverse community with pupils from across the UK, Europe, and around the globe. Loughborough Grammar provides them with the best of both worlds, as a single-sex school on a co-educational campus.
This means our pupils benefit from small classes and a learning environment designed to help them perform to their academic potential, and a co-curricular programme which sees them sharing opportunities and experiences with the girls at our neighbouring Loughborough High School.
A genuine home away from home
There are two warm and welcoming boarding houses that accommodate a thriving, active boarding community of between 30 and 35 boys in each house. Denton House and School House are situated in the heart of the campus and have undergone an extensive modernisation programme in the last three years to provide comfortable, spacious and well equipped surroundings for our boarders.
We believe boarding is about more than just a to live - it's about creating a vibrant and supportive community. From the moment a student arrives, they are warmly welcomed by their Housemaster and introduced to key members of our team, including our healthcare staff and catering team.
