Where our leavers go

An increasing number are enjoying exciting Gap Years, having successfully deferred their university to start in Autumn 2024, and are currently making a foray into workplaces as diverse as Sotheby's and Prep Schools. The most popular destinations Calne girls are headed to this year reach opposite ends of the UK, with the top three being Edinburgh, Durham and Exeter.

As ever, there was great variety in the courses they have chosen to read, credit to the unique talents and interests they bring to their current and prospective communities. All of the major subject are represented, from languages, humanities, social sciences, STEM and the creative arts, with some new and exciting course titles creeping in as academic fields, such as Ecological and Environmental Sciences.

Girls are therefore cared for by Housemistresses who are particularly aware of the needs of the individual age group in which they work. Junior Boarding The younger girls sleep in medium sized dormitories in School House, St Prisca's and St Cecilia's.

Florence Dyas House (Girls) Florence Dyas House is one of the two Houses for our Sixth Form, and girls will say in this House for the whole two years of their A Levels. Florence Dyas House was opened in 2014 and is geared to preparing our Sixth Form girls for university life and is providing the girls with individual study bedrooms with ensuite facilities, social areas and study and tutorial areas.

Helen Wright House (Girls) Helen Wright House is one of the two Houses for our Sixth Form, and girls will say in this House for the whole two years of their A Levels. The Helen Wright House was opened in 2008 and is geared to preparing our Sixth Form girls for university life and is an exciting and wonderful end to their time at St Mary's.
