Westonbirt is a leading UK independent day and boarding school for boys and girls age 2 - 18 years, located in the Cotswolds, 90 minutes from London, to Royal Highgrove and the cities of Bristol and Bath. Westonbirt is an inspired community, set in 210 acres of parkland and one of the most beautiful stately homes in England.
Class sizes are small and achievement is good. 90% of students achieve their first-choice university and destinations in 2024 included Russell group universities such as Bristol, Durham, Exeter, Nottingham and Southampton. There is an abundance of outdoor space for sports and outstanding facilities including a nine-hole golf course, 25m heated swimming pool, Astroturf, fully fitted gymnasium, tennis courts, Orangery Theatre, art studios and Music Technology Centre.

Specific is given to those intending to apply to Oxbridge, or for other specialist degrees such as Medicine. Westonbirt is also proud to offer a strong EAL department (English as an additional ) and enjoy a vibrant international community. Specialist teachers in Learning Support and EAL provide a screening test on entry for all students and prescribe lessons according to the learning requirements of each individual.

Boarding at our school A family for life - Boarding at Westonbirt Westonbirt enjoys a rich boarding heritage and vibrant boarding community that benefits day students and boarders alike. Full, flexi and weekly boarding is available. Our 50/50 mix of international and UK boarders creates a vibrant community, perfect for pupils to form global friendships.
Boarders can maximise the opportunities of early morning and after school co-curricular activities and enjoy a full programme of trips and activities at weekends. Boarders benefit from the onsite indoor swimming pool and 9 hole golf course, and for older pupils the fitness suite.

We have six boarding houses offering boarding from Year 6 through to Sixth Form, each creating a warm and vibrant boarding community of UK and International Boarders. Sedgwick House - Junior Co-Ed Boarding for Years 6-8 Badminton House - Exclusive Boarding House for Large Immersion Groups Beaufort House - Senior Boys' Boarding for Years 9-10 Dorchester House - Girls' Boarding for Years 9-11 Gloucester House - Senior Boys' Boarding for 11-13 Holford House - Offsite Boarding for Sixth Form (both Girls and Boys).
Sedgwick House, Years 6-8 (Boys and Girls) Sedgwick is our newest boarding house, which opened in April 2024, for girls and boys aged from Year 6 (10/11) to Year 8 (12/13). Enabling Westonbirt to offer boarding to Prep pupils from Year 6; an exciting development for younger pupils who are able to gain greater independence ahead of the move to our senior school, immerse themselves in activities and enjoy the warmth and inclusivity of the boarding community.
