Badminton — campus and grounds

Badminton School, its campus nestled in the leafy outskirts of the university city of Bristol, is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3 - 18. We offer a holistic approach to education; to put it simply, we encourage our girls to get "hands on" with their subjects, ask questions and really get stuck in.

Above all, learning is fun at Badminton and this, coupled with our homely community and excellent pastoral care, leaves no scope for anonymity. Your daughter will be known and fully supported in whatever her talents or interests may be. We often get asked what the characteristics of a Badminton girl are and the truth is, there is no one 'type'!

Badminton girls are treated like the individuals that they are; we inspire them to pursue their own interests and expand and explore their ambitions, both in their academic work and in co-curricular activities.
Badminton — the school grounds

We take full advantage of being situated in such an exciting, cosmopolitan city. Boasting two of the largest universities in the country, Bristol is well known for learning and academic achievement and Badminton girls benefit from attending university lectures and taking part in industry-run competitions, as well as participating in events run by the local business community for young people.

The best way to understand the School and enjoy its enriching atmosphere and palpable sense of community is to come and visit. We look forward to welcoming you and your daughter to Badminton soon. What the school is known for? For over 165 years we have nurtured and inspired girls to succeed in every area of life: from politics to the creative arts; from medicine to motherhood.

Badminton — everyday boarding life

Boarding in a lively, cosmopolitan university city is an attractive choice for many of our parents who want their daughters to live and grow up in Bristol with its many social, academic and cultural opportunities but in a safe and secure environment.

Boarding life means there is time for many more activities than in a Day School and for parents of Day Girls, Boarding plays an important role in enhancing the quality of life here. Some Day Girls choose to spend regular or occasional nights in Boarding or to come in at weekends to complete prep, continue with coursework or just enjoy a trip or activity with their Boarding friends.
