Brighton College Prep Handcross — the school grounds

Brighton College Prep Handcross is a popular co-educational, day and boarding Prep School for around 400 pupils aged 2 to 13. Set in large, idyllic grounds, we are part of the Brighton College Family of Schools and about 30% of our Year 8 children move onto Brighton College each year.

Others secure scholarships and places to a wide variety of leading independent senior schools, both locally and throughout the country. Childhood is precious and we want our pupils to enjoy it for as long as possible, within an environment that offers a wide range of stimulating opportunities for growth and development, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our school is purposeful, ambitious, forward-thinking and, most importantly of all, it is kind.
Brighton College Prep Handcross — around the school

Be Trewe Our School motto, dating back to 1918, is "Be Trewe", and these two words sum up everything that we stand for: Best behaviour at all times Engage in lessons and activities Treat others as you wish to be treated Respect everyone and be kind Ensure you always tell the truth We forgive and forget Encourage others School history The School was founded in 1887 by Rev.

William Henry Webb and was originally known as Wykeham Hall, based in Hampshire. In 1918 Wykeham Hall itself was bought by the Fleet Air Arm who used it as part of their Officers' Mess, and the School moved to the opposite side of the airfield into Seafield Park.
