A proud history of shaping the future Embraced by the glorious Malvern Hills, our College is one of England's great independent schools. With an admired and distinguished history, Malvern alumni have helped to shape the modern world of science, sport, literature and the arts for generations.
Much history has been made since the College first opened its doors in 1865, but some things will never change. Generations of Malvernians have produced, participated in, and been entertained by, superb artwork, excellent musical performances, impressive design and theatrical productions of the highest quality.
Each subject that makes up the Creative Arts at Malvern: Arts, Music, Drama and Design and Technology, has its own identity. In the Lindsay Arts Centre Art flourishes, the iconic Music School and adjoining St Edmunds Hall has individual rehearsal rooms that were once rooms of contemplation in the building's previous incarnation as a Monastery.

77% of candidates achieved their offers at their first-choice university in 2022, with students gaining places at universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Warwick, Imperial College London, LSE, University College London, King's College London, Exeter, Bristol, St Andrews and Bath, among others. Two pupils gained places to study Medicine (Bristol University and Nottingham University) and 17 pupils gained places from a range of overseas universities including some of the most prestigious European and US universities such as Hamburg, TU Delft, Maastricht, Chicago and New York University.
Of the QS World University Top 10 Rankings, Malvern pupils are taking places at 5/10 top ranked global universities.

College is a proud of its long standing heritage as a traditional boarding and day school offering responsive boarding. Our day and boarding pupils are fully integrated into our boarding houses, ensuring an inclusive and supportive community.
A home away from home Each pupil has a Housem - their Housemistress or Housemaster who oversees the individual's progress through the College and who will help prepare the pupil for life beyond school. The Deputy Housem also works closely with pupils.
A genuine home away from home
The Houses at Malvern provide all our pupils, boarding and day, with a home from home; they become part of the House family. Malvern College is a traditional boarding school; almost 80% of our pupils are full boarders and so the Houses are full of life throughout weekends.
We have 11 Houses in total, 5 for girls and 6 for boys. All our Houses are run on the same principles and ethos. Each House has a dedicated and experienced team of House Staff, led by the Housemaster or Housemistress. House allocation is confirmed in the summer prior to the September entry into the school.
We can arrange trusted UK guardianship for international families.

Application procedure and entrance tests Entry at 13+ into Foundation Year (FY - Year 9)We recommend that prospective pupils currently attending UK preparatory or junior schools visit the College when they are in Year 6.
Year 7 Admissions Day - Pupils who are registered for entry prior to the end of October in which they are in Year 7, are invited to attend a Year 7 Admissions Day which takes in the November of Year 7. The day consists of a range of enjoyable activities and interesting classes which allow College staff to observe pupils' interaction and engagement, and chat to them informally throughout the day.
