With almost 30 years of co-educational experience, Pangbourne College is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged between 11-18 years, set in over 230 acres of Berkshire's Are of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the best four mile stretch of rowing river in the country.
At Pangbourne College, we are guided by our past whilst fully embracing the hope and opportunity of the future. It is this which allows our students to leave us as well-rounded individuals, able to flourish in a complex world. There are four pillars that develop and sustain a Pangbourne education: Academic Rigour, Exploration, Community and Leadership.

Where our leavers go
The majority of Pangbourne College pupils leave school and proceed to university, but a very small number join an apprenticeship scheme or take on other forms of work-related learning. Of those who proceed to university, some join an Art College or Drama School and a few go to universities outside of the UK.
Among the popular university destinations are Bristol, Cardiff, Durham, Oxford, Exeter, Oxford Brookes and University College London. Generally, a Sixth Form student's ideas about further education evolve during their Lower Sixth year (Year 12), hardening into preferences for specific courses and institutions during the Summer Term and summer holidays of that year.
However, where a Sixth Form student knows that they want to apply either to the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge they are assigned an academic mentor in the first month of their Lower Sixth year to help them achieve their goal. Pangbourne College offers a carefully planned careers and higher education programme during the Lower Sixth year.

Pangbourne has two dedicated Boarding Houses (for students in Years 7-13): Port Jackson for boys and St. George for girls. This provides an enriching and dynamic boarding experience, allowing for strong community building and focused for boarders.
Pastoral care and staffing Mark Skidmore is our Deputy Head Pastoral and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). He is supported in his role by Caroline Bond, our Assistant Head Pupil Mental Wellbeing, who leads on Pangbourne's wellbeing provision and our dedication to mental health .
A genuine home away from home
Each Boarding House has a mix of full, weekly and part boarders, as well as day pupils. For Years 9 to 13, there is a compulsory Saturday sports programme. Parents and guardans are welcome to attend their children's fixtures, regattas or other competitive sports' events.
Dunbar, Boys & Girls, 11-13 (Boys and Girls) Dunbar is Pangbourne's Junior House, made up of pupils in Year 7 and 8. An experienced team of Dunbar staff pupils' transition from their previous school by creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
