St Teresa's Effingham is a thriving Day and Boarding School with a focus on strong pastoral care and individual , situated in 55 acres of outstanding natural beauty in the Surrey countryside. There is easy access to London by road or rail (40 minutes), with Gatwick & Heathrow airports within a 35/40 minute drive.
A selective Independent Boarding School for girls aged 8 to 18 and over 580 pupils, all denominations are welcome. Around 10% are international pupils, with full boarders not only coming from the UK but also all over the world, including Spain, South Korea, Mexico, Germany, Nigeria, France, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Uzbekistan and South America.

Academic results are excellent right across the board. St Teresa's Catholic Foundation ensures the pastoral care the girls receive is second to none, giving them the security needed for all-round achievement. The beautiful site and excellent modern facilities, to Heathrow, Gatwick, and with the provision of school buses locally, make it accessible for day pupil and boarders alike.

Boarding is available for up to 75 boarders on a full, weekly, flexi or occasional basis (subject to availability). We offer this full range of boarding options in recognition of the often busy and complex lives led by modern families, and the need to provide stability and continuity in the lives of our girls, which is vital during their years at school.
We welcome pupils from Year 7 onwards; pupils in Year 9 are housed in bedrooms of 2-4 girls and, those in Years 10-13 have their own study bedrooms. Friendly, residential boarding staff ensure the needs of boarders are catered for. The welfare of girls is paramount, and our boarding staff are passionate about the pastoral care that our girls receive.
A genuine home away from home

St Teresa's has two boarding houses: Main House where girls of the same year group in Years 7-11 are housedtogether in different "wings", and Magdalen House which is the main Sixth Form boarding house. Boarding at St Teresa's is run by a team of Housemistresses who share responsibility for the pastoralcare of all girls.
The Boarding Staff are led by the Head of Boarding who is responsible for theadministration of all aspects of boarding and for the pastoral care and guidance of all boarding pupils. Magdalen House (Girls) Magdalen House is for girls in the Sixth Form.
