Established in 1895, Stonar is a leading day and boarding school in a charming countryside setting in Wiltshire, and home to the UK's finest riding academy. Our progressive curriculum transcends the purely academic, creating an enriching environment in which pupils discover and develop their individual talents - and gain a deeper experience of the world.
The school is set in 80 acres of stunning parkland and gardens, with excellent sport and arts facilities. We excel at 'adding value' to a child's education, which means pupils generally score higher grades than predicted at GCSE and A Level.
Our pupils on average gained a value-added score of 1.5 (a whole and a half) at GCSE and 0.8-1 for A Level, i.

Stonar's renowned Equestrian Centre offers pupils the chance to ride, whatever their level of expertise, and has stabling for up to 74 horses. Approximately 40% of the pupils ride, from complete beginners to experienced competitive riders. Pupils may ride one of over 30 Stonar horses or bring their own horse to school.
However, non-riders are still in the majority at Stonar. As part of the well renowned Globeducate Schools Group, Stonar has partner schools around the world with whom we collaborate to offer a unique educational experience, including academic projects, exchanges and joint music, drama and sporting festivals.
