Sutton Valence — campus and grounds

We are very proud of our community, in the heart of the Kent countryside, where each cares for all and individuality is cherished. There is no standard Suttonian, but we hope that all demonstrate confidence, kindness and commitment in all they do.

As a result of the high expectations and standards we expect and instil, we are delighted that our examination results have improved year on year for the last six years and that we have been recognised for adding value to the academic and all-round education we provide.

Sutton Valence — the school grounds

School history Sutton Valence School was founded in 1576 by William Lambe, who was born in Sutton Valence village. He moved to London and subsequently became extremely wealthy and a significant philanthropist, funding such projects as Lambe's Conduit, to improve the city's sewage removal.

He became a chorister in Henry VIII's Chapel Royal and later the Master of the Clothworkers' Company. Lambe provided that the School should be run by the Clothworkers' Company after his death, which it did from 1580 until 1910. At this time, ownership was transferred to the United Westminster Schools Foundation.

in every discipline leading to GCSE choices which are bespoke to them. From the start of the Lent Term of the Third Form, pupils begin most of their GCSE courses. This enables classes to complete the course content well before the start of the Summer Term and offer plenty of opportunity for consolidation, exam technique and revision.

By starting some GCSEs courses slightly early, we also allow pupils to have a very good taste of the subjects on offer and this will help them to decide which to continue, alongside the core subjects, into the Fourth Form. GCSE Options The Core Curriculum (studied by all): English Language; Mathematics; One Science; Religious Studies (short course); ICT; Games, PE and PSHE.
