Truro — the school grounds

A Truro School education is about far more than excellent examination results, important though these unquestionably are. It is about nurturing confident, tolerant and enthusiastic young people who are ready to shape and influence the world around them.

At Truro School, we celebrate the fact that Cornwall is almost entirely surrounded by sea, and we encourage our pupils to make full use of its remarkable 300 miles of coastline. Whether surfing on sandy beaches, sailing on sheltered estuaries, walking dramatic headlands and moorlands, or exploring the area's rich geological heritage, pupils are inspired by the natural environment that surrounds them.

Our home in the South West of England is a joyful and secure where children can put down strong roots, be transformed by what they learn, and develop the confidence and capability to spread their wings as global citizens.
Truro — around the school

What the school is known for? An Education Beyond the Classroom Education is about far more than excellent examination results, important though these are. While intellectual understanding is vital, genuine learning happens when students are given time, space and opportunity to reflect on their experiences.

That is why co‑curricular life is so central to education at Truro School. We dedicate our Wednesday afternoons to taking learning beyond the timetable, allowing pupils to engage in carefully chosen activities tailored to individual interests and talents.
