Academics at Bethany
What pupils study at Bethany — and where it takes them.
gives pupils the opportunity to develop their talents and study a broad and balanced curriculum. The breadth of the curriculum also enables them to make an informed choice of subjects when starting GCSE Courses in Year 10. In Years 7 to 9, pupils are broadly streamed in forms for most subjects but are set by ability in English, Mathematics and Science from Year 7.
In the past two years, Bethany has introduced Project Based Learning (PBL) to our Year 7 and Year 8 curriculum. Pupils are off timetable for one day a term to complete various tasks for example, the most recent project was tasking the pupils with designing an innovative and realistic way of helping to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

At Bethany School we take pride in offering an extensive range of courses at A level, enabling all our pupils to choose subjects which they enjoy and play to their individual strengths. The recent upward trend of pupils achieving A* and A grades continues at Bethany and we are thrilled that our pupils continue to secure places at their preferred universities.
This is a reflection of our focus on the Virtue of Learning which highlights the importance of developing essential learning habits. 94% of our leavers go on to University, most of them to the course of their first choice University.

We have two boarding houses at Bethany: The Mount for boys from Year 7 to Year 11 The Orchard for boys from Year 11 to 13 and girls in all years +13 photos Pastoral care and staffing Each House is run by a Housemaster or Housemistress, many of whom live in with their family which makes the House an extension of their home.

We can offer short term stays depending upon the year group. Special notes to agents about entry to the school Application procedure and entrance tests Please contact the School's Registrar, Mrs Sally Martorell, in the first instance. All pupils are required to sit Entrance Assessments in Maths and English and to have an interview with the Headmaster.
Assessments may be sat in the pupil's own country, under exam conditions, and interviews may be carried out using zoom or skype. The first step is to provide background academic information for the pupil which should be emailed to the Registrar.
