Mayfield — school buildings and grounds

Mayfield is set in the beautiful, yet easily accessible Sussex countryside. It has an enviable academic record, exceptional pastoral care and extensive extra-curricular activities. Mayfield girls learn how to combine rigorous academic study together with a diverse range of activities beyond the classroom.

From fashion design to forensic science, drama to horticulture, Mayfield girls are encouraged to extend themselves outside the classroom as much as inside. Some pursuits stand particularly proud: the School team has won the National Schools Equestrian Association Championship a staggering 9 times over the last 15 years; and Mayfield has a reputation as the UK's leading secondary school for ceramics, having won several national awards We challenge our girls to realise their full potential, providing them with a lifelong love of learning in order that they leave mature, educated and independent young women, confident in their beliefs and prepared to make a positive difference in the world.

Described by the ISI as "outstanding" and by Country Life as "one of the finest schools in the land", a Mayfield education combines academic rigour, breadth of opportunity and a strong sense of community.
