Founded in 1807, Mill Hill is the oldest and largest school in the Mill Hill Education Group, and one of the UK's leading HMC schools. Boarding at our school "The sun always shines on Mill Hill" is a mantra often repeated by colleagues here at the Mill Hill, which so aptly reflects the exceptional experience for all those who are part of our Schools. Nestled within 120 acres of picturesque grounds, our boarding community offers both the tranquillity of the countryside and the vibrancy of nearby central London.
This unique blend provides pupils with the opportunity to explore the city's iconic landmarks while enjoying a serene, supportive environment. Our four Boarding Houses, led by dedicated Housemasters and Housemistresses, are home to around 225 full and weekly boarders from both Mill Hill School and Mill Hill International.
A genuine home away from home

We have four boarding houses across the Foundation, pupils from both Mill Hill School and Mill Hill International reside in all of them from Year 9 through to Year 13. Burton Bank (Mixed) Collinson (Mixed) Macgregor (Previously New House) (Girls only) Ridgeway (Mixed) All have a mixture of single, twin and triple rooms with shared bathrooms.
The mixed boarding houses share common room/kitchen areas but have separate boys' and girls' accommodation, separated by security-coded doors/access. Ridgeway, ages 13 to 18, mixed (Boys and Girls) Ridgeway House was built for boarders in 1911 in the style of the Edwardian 'Aesthetic Movement'.
