Pastoral care

A genuine home away from home

Rishworth — boarding house life

Students are allocated to a boarding house in the care of a House Master or House Mistress, and a team of Matronic staff. These boarding houses are in proximity to all school facilities. A very good standard of accommodation is offered. We have no large dormitories in either Wheelwright or Calder House; instead we have individual study bedrooms, almost all single or double occupancy, which allow students personal space.

Boarding girls are housed in Wheelwright House and boarding boys in Calder House. Calder House for Boys aged 10-18 (Boys) Our boys' Boarding Houses inside Calder House are split into 3 key areas: Ryburn, Redmires Upper and Remires Lower. Rishworth boarding provides a genuine home from home, supervised by a resident Housemistress and her husband, leading a wider team of staff committed to the happiness, development and achievements of the boys in their care.
