Sibford — the school grounds

Sibford is an Independent Co-ed School for children from 3 years to 18 years old nestled in 50 acres of secure English countryside near the Cotswolds. Large cities are easily accessible, with Oxford being just a 20-minute train journey and London being 55 minutes away.

There is easy access to Heathrow, Gatwick and Birmingham Airports, plus many other regional airports, which are particularly good for European students (Sibford organises the transfers from the airport). Sibford's location means culture is extremely by and we organise social excursions to nearby places such as Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham.

The school is set in more than 50 acres of safe and secure grounds.
Sibford — around the school

The school offers boarding from Year 7 to Year 12, and has various programmes on offer, from overseas children joining for one term, one year or more, or even for short term immersion places for 2-4 weeks. Academically, Sibford is strong. The Department of Education has listed Sibford in the top 20% of all schools nationally for the progress made in our A level results and in the top 5% for progress made in BTEC courses.

We are proud of the wide range of backgrounds that boarders bring with them to Sibford and feel this adds an international dimension to a rural school. This in turn adds to the diversity of Sibford and provides increased understanding of different cultures for all.

Sibford — boarding house life

Our on-site catering team work hard toprovide locally sourced fresh produce. Different diets are catered for, for example to be responsive to any allergy or religious considerations, and there is always a vegetarian option and a salad bar available.

Boarders have plenty of opportunity to make suggestions about menus as boarding House Captains and deputies/ prefects meet with the Head Chef on a regular basis to discuss ways to improve meals and vary the menu. We also have 'international' food days throughout the year, to celebrate the cuisine from around the world.

Pastoral care

A genuine home away from home

Sibford — pupils in their boarding house

We have two boarding houses: Margaret Fell, which caters for girls aged between 11 and 18; and Fielding, which caters for boys aged between 11 and 18. Our houses are run by House Parents (some of whom are also teachers) who work hard to create a family style environment.

House parents live at either end of the boarding houses. They know our boarders well, and, like parents, try to keep informed of their progress at school, whilst also giving them a secure home to retreat to from the pressures of academic work.
