form part of the curriculum for students in Year 7 to 9. Visual Arts: At St Mary's School, Art from Years 7-13 covers a range of activities and in-depth assignments. Students have the opportunity to experiment with different 2D and 3D media including Photography, Photoshop, Print making, Ceramics, Collage and Painting in order to explore their strengths and preferences.
Most importantly the ethos of the Art Department is to develop students' visual literacy skills. Whatever their age all students have the opportunity to build a comprehensive portfolio of work to gain confidence in their abilities and to make informed links with the work of other artists from different eras and cultures.

Mary's School, Cambridge is highly enjoyable and our student's thrive in our community's supportive environment. Our younger boarders are nurtured by our caring and highly-qualified staff so that the boarding house feels like a home away from home.
As girls get older, they are given increased independence and responsibility and helped to acquire important life skills to prepare them for life beyond school. The boarding community is truly international including girls from 16 countries.
A genuine home away from home
All our boarding students live at St Mary's Mary Ward House, a short walk away from the Junior and Senior Schools and appropriately named after our foundress Mary Ward. The school is committed to providing our girls with the best possible environments in which to live, learn and grow, and both sites offer a welcome, home away from home for our girls.
Mary Ward House is set in substantial grounds adjacent to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden on the south side, just as the school's Bateman Street site is adjacent to the north. Mary Ward House is within a ten minute walking distance of the school on Bateman Street.

We accept applicants into all year except for Year 11 and Upper Sixth(Year13). We only offer the full two-year GCSE and A Level courses. We are happy to offer short-stay placements from Reception to Year 10 and Lower Sixth subject to space. We prefer girls to join us in September, although we do accept applications at other times of the year, dependent on space.
Special notes to agents about entry to the school We pay commission to agents who students at our school. We seek references for all new agents and put an Agency Agreement in before accepting student applications. We are keen to meet all our agents and welcome visits to our school at any time.
