With 50 green acres in the heart of one of Europe's most historic cities, St Peter's is a school like no other. The fourth oldest school in the world, St Peter's offers outstanding day and boarding education for girls and boys across three divisions: St Peter's 13-18, St Peter's 8-13 and St Peter's 2-8.
Following their inspection in February 2025, the Independent Schools Inspectorate found St Peter's to have met all standards required, the highest credit any school can receive. Inspectors said that "Positive professional relationships are successfully promoted between teachers and pupils, which fosters a scholarly ethos" and "Staff know each child's individual needs and interests and take this into account in their planning" as well as "Pupils understand the importance of tolerance and respect for individual differences".

we offer Politics, Classics, Philosophy, a range of foreign languages, and now the Extended Project Qualification, which allows pupils to undertake an in-depth exploration of a specialist subject that excites them. The curriculum is taught by inspirational and supportive teachers, with each lesson in a dedicated teaching space allowing for specialisation.
English as an additional In order to cope with the high academic and social demands of the School, pupils must be fluent English speakers. We expect a high standard of written and spoken English from boarding applications, equivalent to IELTS level 6.0, and this will be assessed in the admissions process.

Boarders are truly in an exceptional position to take advantage of all St Peter's has to offer, with the space and range of opportunities to grow, explore and discover something new and exciting every day.
St Peter's boarders are a busy community, who enjoy a variety of sports, music, clubs and societies alongside their learning, in a supportive and inspiring environment. Pastoral care and staffing Boarders live in houses of no more than 45 pupils, and are looked after primarily by our team of dedicated Houseparents, who oversee each individual's progress and deal with all day to day matters regarding welfare.
A genuine home away from home
The warm, friendly atmosphere and comfortable accommodation of each boarding house ensures that every boarder enjoys the full St Peter's experience, whilst the history and unique personality of each house contributes to a culture of community and friendly competition.
Each house is overseen by a married couple, usually teachers at St Peter's, who live there with their families. Each house has lots of cosy rooms to chat, study, watch TV or practice music. Boarders can always find a quiet corner to themselves, but equally they can always find company when they want it.
