At Truro School, we celebrate the fact that Cornwall is almost entirely surrounded by sea, and we encourage our pupils to make full use of its remarkable 300 miles of coastline. Whether surfing on sandy beaches, sailing on sheltered estuaries, walking dramatic headlands and moorlands, or exploring the area's rich geological heritage, pupils are inspired by the natural environment that surrounds them.
Our home in the South West of England is a joyful and secure where children can put down strong roots, be transformed by what they learn, and develop the confidence and capability to spread their wings as global citizens.
What the school is known for? An Education Beyond the Classroom Education is about far more than excellent examination results, important though these are. While intellectual understanding is vital, genuine learning happens when students are given time, space and opportunity to reflect on their experiences.
That is why co‑curricular life is so central to education at Truro School. We dedicate our Wednesday afternoons to taking learning beyond the timetable, allowing pupils to engage in carefully chosen activities tailored to individual interests and talents.

School has a long history of boarding and believes that the community atmosphere of the school is greatly enhanced by the presence of boarders. Boarding is offered to those pupils (from the UK or overseas) who wish to board either full board, weekly board or flexi board.
Boarders although representing only a small percentage of the population are seen as an integral part of life at school, they represent the heart of the school. There are three boarding houses, Malvern and Pentreve for girls, and Trennick for the boys.
A genuine home away from home
Boarding at Truro School is all about community. Our three boarding houses, nestled within the grounds of the school, become -knit families ranging in size from 15 to 35. The houses are safe and secure places where boarders can feel safe and happy, and embrace everything that boarding life has to offer.
The are also a wealth of after school activities where boarders can get involved with the on site facilities staying open in the evenings for late use by the students. From the use of the school's facilities - the library for prep, the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre for training and the swimming pool for relaxing - to exploring the beautiful city of Truro, just five minutes from their doorstep.

Special notes to agents about entry to the school Truro School is delighted to offer places to international students on a full-time basis or for short periods of time (minimum one term) if space is available.
