Steeped in over 300 years of historical tradition and set in a stunning 60-acre campus in the heart of the south west of England, we are truly a community spirited boarding and day school providing an exceptional all-round education, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Sixth Form, as well as being one of few schools to offer the IB Career-related programme.
What the school is known for? Strong individual academic achievement is the central pillar of a Warminster education and this will always be the case. We offer both A-Levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Sixth Form, as well as being one of few schools to offer the IB Career-related programme.
However, we firmly believe that what happens outside the classroom is just as important as what happens inside it.
In truth there is no 'typical' Warminster pupil and nor should there be. As a community we are happy if our pupils get stuck in, give things a go and always push themselves to achieve their potential. In doing this we find they develop a sense of direction, happy memories and long-lasting friendships.
School history A brief history of Warminster School The School has a long and fascinating history and incorporates four schools, plus a convent, in one. It was founded in 1707 by Thomas Thynne (1640 - 1714), who had been created 1st Viscount Weymouth in 1682, to educate the sons of his Longleat estate workers.

We strongly believe in the value of our boarding offering and what it can provide for your child. Each house has a Housemaster or Housemistress (HM) who works closely with the House Matron. Along with Assistant HMs, these staff are key to the development, and guidance of the pupils in their care.
The HMs and their families help to foster a sense of the warmth and familiar routines of family life. Our aim is to create a caring atmosphere in which our boarding children feel happy, secure and comfortable. We offer every boarder a true 'home from home' under the watchful eye and guidance of their HM.
Warminster has three boarding houses: Stratton (sixth form co-ed house), Ivy (Y7-Y11 girls) and St Boniface (Y7-Y11 boys). Each house has its own unique personality and pupils enjoy a sense of belonging and loyalty. Each house has a Housemaster or Housemistress (HM) who works closely with the House Matron.
