The School enjoys a good network of transport, including regular trains to and from London via the local station, just a couple of minutes' walk from the School's gates. What the school is known for? Woodbridge School focuses on providing an education in which academic results are important and are achieved by innovative approaches to teaching and learning, excellent extra-curricular provision, outstanding pastoral care, and a particular emphasis on the personal development of students.

they wish to take beyond year 9 to GCSE level. Whatever their talents, they get exceptional every step of the way. We provide each student with the essential intellectual skills needed for the next stage of their education, including the ability to think critically and logically, capturing imagination and allowing for diversity of interests.
All academic subjects are important and help to develop different areas of the brain; for example, English develops the ability to use precisely and creatively, whilst history and social sciences require that students are able to research and then construct clear, logical arguments based on their findings.

The variety of leavers' university destinations reflects the wide interests and talents of the Sixth Form. The vast majority of leavers are destined for university study with 38% heading to the top 20 universities in the UK.
Five students received places at Oxbridge in 2024, and have gone on to study Classics, Ancient and Modern History, Veterinary Medicine, Theology, Religion and Philosophy

School aims to provide students with an invaluable and unique experience that will remain with them throughout the rest of their lives. We have one traditional and happy boarding house situated right at the heart of our school grounds. Our boarders are at the centre of everything we do.
Our students love coming to school, they are fulfilled and aspirational. Genuine friendships are formed and the strong relationship between students and teachers is a tangible strength of our boarding. Boarding at Woodbridge is more than just a kind and nurturing experience, where every student is known and valued.
A genuine home away from home
Boarding has been a vibrant and integral part of Woodbridge School since it was re-founded in 1662, and it continues to thrive in the 125-year-old, homely and traditional boarding house, fondly known as 'School House'. Conveniently located at the heart of the Senior School, School House is small enough to offer a friendly and supportive family atmosphere and a base from which to explore the richness of the wider school.
While celebrating the traditional, significant investment has allowed Woodbridge School to provide an excellent and modern environment in which to live and work. Living in School House alongside our boarders, Mr Gunn, his wife Lois and their sons Jacob and Samuel make School House a wonderful environment in which to live and learn; providing a home away from home for our boarders where they can make the most of every academic and social opportunity, as part of our School community.
